0355L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/19/21

1- Sunny for the most part with lighter winds will give us a pretty good day.  Rain comes back into the forecast later on Sunday and into next week but severe weather looks to be unlikely. Keep in mind that could change. We’ll see what happens. For now, if you have the opportunity to get outside today, do so.

2- We have resumed storm siren testing as of this past Monday. If we are cloudy or its raining on a Monday, we will NOT test the actual sirens. We have several voice sirens that we can talk over and I may do a test over them when we are cloudy but not raining. Keep this in mind, storm sirens are OUTDOOR devices. You probably will “NOT” hear them inside your home unless you live near one. My suggestions are the following, 1- listen to LOCAL radio stations for up to the minute info from us and the NWS. 2- Download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. NWS information and warnings come through our app besides our information. 3- Have a PLAN so you know what you will do in the event we have a violent storm come through the area. It’s happened before and it will happen again. PREPAREDNESS=RESILIENCE.

3- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

TODAY-Sunny. Highs in the mid-50s. Northeast winds around 10 mph.

TONIGHT-Clear. Lows in the lower 30s. Light and variable winds becoming southeast around 10 mph after midnight.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

MIKE
