0424L-FRIDAY UPDATE FROM ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/9/18

Key words, “NOT MUCH WIND.”  Works for me and I am not complaining.

1-The Fire Danger is still elevated and it will remain this way until we receive more rain and foliage starts greening up. This is a dangerous time as it is from roughly November through March. Just be extremely careful out there and report any smoke or fire.

2-On Wednesday, we received many calls concerning SMOKE PLUMES all around the county. Those were controlled burns. There may be more of those today. If you aren’t sure, call 911. Better to be safe than sorry. With winds forecast to be below 10 mph today, you may see more plumes. STAY FIRE AWARE!!

3-Thank you all for the comments yesterday concerning my mistake. I was raised by a code of ethics in that if something I do or say hurts folks, right the wrong and move on. I need a reminder on my clipboard now that says, TALK TO EVERYONE WHEN EXTREMELY TIRED!! We’re all good now and that’s all that matters. Again, THANK YOU.

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday-Sunny, with a high near 74. South southwest wind around 7 mph.

Friday Night-Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. South southeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

HAVE A SUPER DAY

MIKE
