0402L-SATURDAY UPDATE FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/10/18

1-The chance for rain does exist for a little while today but as stated in past posts, don’t hold your breath. Anything right now would be good but we may have to wait a week, as it looks right now, for a better chance.

2-The fire danger is low per guidance BUT don’t let your guard down. We have a cold front that will push into the area sometime this afternoon. WINDS WILL SHIFT BECOMING NORTHERLY AND FAIRLY STRONG. The front will bring dryer and cooler air thus with stronger winds and lower humidity. The winds are the main issues. If you plan on burning anything today, stay aware of the wind shift that’s coming and make sure you call in your burn to dispatch.

3- You can get all County Fire District numbers from the following link: https://gcem.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Garfield-County-Family-Preparedness-Guide-2017.pdf the numbers are on the LAST PAGE.
This is our Preparedness Guide which is located under DOCS on our GCEM.ORG website. Check it out and while you’re looking around, download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app at your app stores.

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
