0330L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-5/21/21

1-There is a chance we’ll see sunshine today. With that sunshine comes heat and with heat you will feel the humidity. The humidity will remain with us for the foreseeable future along with that chance for rain. If you looked at radar yesterday, you saw what some meteorologists call the Atmospheric River just to our east. It will return over the weekend affecting us so get ready for some more precipitation.

2-We aren’t expecting severe weather in the next several days but we are looking at the possibility of some flooding if heavy rain occurs. Just keep this in mind if we do see heavier rainfall. Also, as we warm up, mosquitoes will be on the loose once again. It is important that you look around your property and dump out anything that holds water so they don’t have that opportunity to lay those eggs. More on this next week.

3-Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

 Today-Decreasing clouds. Highs in the lower 80s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of showers 20 percent.

Finally, be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. It just might save your life.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
