0300L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/13/23
*WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 5 PM CDT FRIDAY. Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph can be expected.
*As I type this morning at 0245L, the front is just west of a Pond Creek to Enid to Waukomis to Hennessey line. No storms for us from this as it appears right now. After frontal passage, winds will increase from the WNW and the advisory will kick in around 7 am. We will experience very strong wind gusts along with much dryer conditions so I will state- NO CONTROLLED BURNING TODAY as any fire could get out of control very quickly. We do appreciate your understanding on this.
*FIRE-WISE: Dewpoint temps will be in the upper 30s to low 40s along with relative humidity in the mid to upper 30s. Much dryer air will be filtering in as we proceed into the weekend so the fire danger will increase. EXTREME CAUTION IS ADVISED.
*Overall, we’ll be ok but winds will be strong. Use caution while driving. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Today-Sunny, windy with highs in the upper 60s. Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
Tonight-Clear, breezy with lows in the lower 40s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
