0305L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/14/23

*Winds were a factor yesterday as we had wind gusts upwards of 43 mph at Lahoma, 41 at Breckenridge, 41 at the base, and 37 at home. We’ll have wind gusts upwards of 35 mph this afternoon. There isn’t a wind advisory in place right now and per guidance, not expecting winds to reach criteria. We should see plenty of sunshine around the area today.

*See the graphic on frost conditions for Sunday night and early Monday morning. We could see frost out there so take the proper precautions where you live.

*As per the drought, the county is under an abnormally dry to severe drought conditions depending on where you live so use extreme caution if doing anything related to fire. We are still asking for NO CONTROLLED BURNING today & Sunday, due to the winds. Fire Weather conditions will be low but not out of the question due to the winds. If you see smoke or fire, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Saturday- Sunny, breezy with highs in the mid-60s. NW winds 15-25 mph gusting up to 35 mph.

Saturday Night- Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 40s. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
