0245L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/20/23

*Warm today through the weekend with fairly light winds. Those winds will increase on Sunday. Before then, warm temps, low humidity, variable winds around 10 mph, with an elevated fire danger. A little above normal conditions for this time of year. Everyone is talking about rainfall for next week. It does look promising per guidance, but it’s still a ways out there. We’ll see what happens.

*Between now and then, use caution when doing any controlled burning and be sure to call dispatch at 580-234-3473 to let them know and to contact us and 9-1-1 if things get out of control. IT HAPPENS!

*As stated in previous posts, winter is slowly making its way and the next question is, ARE YOU READY? Look around the house and at work and see if anything needs to be taken care of and get it done. It’s too late after it gets cold, just sayin.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN,

Friday-Sunny. Highs in the mid-80s. Northwest winds around 5 mph, becoming west in the afternoon.

Friday Night-Clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the mid-50s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

*Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. Your not prepared without it.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
