0305L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-9/22/23

* We are in a GENERAL RISK AREA for thunderstorms again this morning. That chance is about 40%. By afternoon we’ll warm up a little and it’ll be a little windy but overall, we’ll see sunshine. A cold front will push in on Saturday giving us a chance for possibly some severe weather. We’ll see how this comes together.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning, then sunny this afternoon. Highs around 90. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tonight- Partly cloudy. Humid with lows around 70. South winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* The WSR-88D weather radar at Kegelman Field known as KVNX is still down. Replacement parts are ordered. A return to service is still undetermined at this time. Until then, we’ll utilize 3 other radars that give us a higher view of our area.
