0330L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 05/22/24

*THE STORM SPOTTER CLASS SCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT IS ON AND WE WILL START PROMPTLY AT 1830L, (6:30PM)

*We are in the General/Marginal Risk areas for severe weather today. The main threat areas look to be mostly in the I-40 area then later today around the Red River. We’ll be watching this closely as the day wears on. Other than this, we’ll be partly cloudy with that chance for rain this morning and then become clear this afternoon.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny with isolated showers and thunderstorms this morning, then sunny this afternoon. Cooler with highs in the upper 70s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

INFORMATION: The individual assistance that I spoke of yesterday is for storms that occurred before May 9th. Anything after that is not eligible right now. We will continue to work towards finding that help for some of you as we move forward. Get with your insurance folks and KEEP ALL PAPERWORK and we’ll see what happens. How many folks received major damage from the hailstorm this past Sunday? EMAIL ME with your info. Do NOT put that here on any social media. Unfortunately, these things take time.
