0335L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 05/21/24

*GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification app. Keep up with the latest from GCEM and the NWS, in detail. DOWNLOAD it today!

* GENERAL THUNDERSTORM RISK again for today. We may see storms today and again, we may not. The dryline will push through the area allowing storms to be focused East-southeast of us. If any storms were to develop in the area, they would most likely be severe with hail and winds being the main threats. The tornado threat for us is very low. We have a 20% chance for today.

Overall, we’ll be ok but we’ll keep that eye on the sky. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 90s. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph, becoming west this afternoon. Gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe. Lows in the upper 50s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

TODAY, I am hosting our NW EM’S at my office for our monthly meeting. I will have a few state officials here also and I will find out if some of you would be eligible for individual assistance and how that would exactly work. I have had several calls concerning this. I will post that info here later today or tomorrow morning and make sure the newspaper has it too. Be patient as these things do take time. We’re working on it!

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
