There were several fires yesterday due to bad decisions. NO BURNING at all today.
..RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CST
THIS EVENING FOR WINDY CONDITIONS… WARM TEMPERATURES AND LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR northern Oklahoma.
The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 6 PM CST
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* WIND…north and northwest, 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.
* HUMIDITY…12 to 20 percent.
* TEMPERATURE…61 to 65 degrees F.
* IMPACTS…Fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Here is your local forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Monday-Sunny, with a high near 64. West wind 8 to 13 mph becoming northwest 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.
Monday Night-Clear, with a low around 29. North northwest wind around 10 mph.
