0315L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 1/13/25
*It’s wintertime! This week we’ll see 2 fronts push through with 1 basically giving us a windshift late Tuesday and the other on Friday bringing Continental Arctic air, (cA), over the weekend. As with all winter fronts, origin is important as different airmasses bring a different type of air. Arctic means very cold. Next weekend, our high temps look like we’ll be below freezing. As it appears at least for now, no precip is expected but that could change depending on moisture return.
We will be warming up gradually this week, possibly reaching the low 50’s Thursday into Friday before the front arrives. Just remember that it is winter and we will get bitterly cold at times. Just be prepared for it and we will survive.
Overall, we’ll be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight- Clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Cold with lows in the mid-20s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
