0330L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 01/08/24

*Rain chances this morning then partly cloudy this afternoon. A cold front will push in overnight bringing snow chances after midnight. If it does snow, we can expect around an inch. We’ll see how this mess comes together. Very strong winds are expected today from the south upwards of 35 mph then transitioning from the north with some gusts upwards of 50 mph later tonight. Secure loose items around the house so they don’t take flight.

Today- Becoming partly sunny this afternoon. A slight chance of thunderstorms. Showers, mainly this morning. Breezy with highs around 50. Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow with a slight chance of rain after midnight. Total snow accumulation up to 1 inch possible. Very windy and cold with lows in the mid-20s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, increasing to northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.
