0300L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 01/07/24

*Clear this morning and then becoming partly to mostly cloudy and warmer this afternoon. The winds will pick up as the day progresses. Wind gusts should top out at around 20 mph or so. This would be a good day to seal up any air leaks you have around the house as winds tonight and tomorrow will be increasing.

*There are many variables at play with the impending storm system. Models are now taking it further north and dry slotting our area, meaning the snow chances are less here as of right now. We’ll wait and see how this mess actually comes together. One thing for sure is that we’ll probably see some thunderstorms Monday morning into the afternoon hours. We still might see some snow activity but probably not until the evening and or overnight hours. Don’t let the hype get the better of you. Stay with factual forecast guidance from the NWS.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny this morning, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph.

Tonight- Cloudy. A chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the upper 30s. Southeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
