0320L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/10/23

*MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER LATER TONIGHT

* Cooler temps will be enjoyed once again as we should remain mostly clear and mildly humid. This will change as we resume the overnight thunderstorm chances tonight. This is what NW flow aloft is all about. Storms will form in the Eastern Colorado/Western Kansas area and make their way into our area. If these do occur, damaging winds will be our main threat along with hail and possible flooding.

* The above stated, heavier weather is expected in SW & Southern Oklahoma tonight so if you plan on traveling, stay weather. There will be chances for additional rainfall throughout this week BUT this weekend looks like we could have severe weather/rain throughout the weekend. Hopefully that will change. We’ll see what happens. HEAT will return on Tuesday and the heat index will be high once again so prepare for this as we continue through the week.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Humid with lows in the upper 60s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
