MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/17/23

*HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY UNTIL 8PM “TUESDAY” EVENING. Heat index values could end up around 105 over the next few days here in the area. Extreme caution is advised if you work outside. Make sure you hydrate properly.

*Along with the heat, winds will increase so use caution if you utilize anything related to fire. The fire danger is low right now but we are dry so be careful out there.

* Rain chances will be very low this week until a front enters the area Thursday night. We’ll see if we receive any rain at that time. Friday’s high looks to be in the upper 80s.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight, then sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning. Sunny this afternoon. Humid with highs in the mid-90s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Humid with lows in the mid-70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
