0255L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/31/23

*HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR TODAY(MONDAY) FROM NOON UNTIL 8PM THIS EVENING. “Heat index values” up to 107 are possible. Use EXTREME CAUTION while doing anything outdoors for a prolonged period of time.

*The strong ridge of high pressure that is responsible for this heat will persist through this week. The winds will increase with some gusts in the mid-20s so use caution if doing any burning this week. Rain is back in the forecast starting Thursday evening but we aren’t holding our breath yet. We’ll see what happens.

Overall, we’ll just be like tater-tots in a fryer for the week so stay inside as much as possible and stay cool. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Monday-Mostly sunny. Hot with highs around 103. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

Monday Night-Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Heat index values up to 107 early in the evening.

HAVE A GOOD DAY & STAY COOL.
