0315L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/01/23

*HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR TODAY(TUESDAY) FROM NOON UNTIL 8PM THIS EVENING. “Heat index values” up to 108 are possible.

**Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app and remember that the information I post on social media each day is located on our app under GCEM Blog and on the front page of our website at www.gcem.org.

*Continued hot will be the main saying through this week until the ridge breaks down towards the weekend. We could actually see a good cool down towards this weekend with a chance for thunderstorms too. If we do see storms Thursday & Friday nights, they will originate in the lee of the Rockies like we had a few weeks ago. Severity hasn’t been determined yet so we’ll keep an eye out and let you know.

*Overall, we’ll be ok, just a bit frazzled, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Tuesday-Sunny, hot with highs around 103. Southwest winds 10-15 mph gusting up to 25 mph.

Tuesday Night-Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 70s. South winds 10-15 mph. Heat index values up to 105 early in the evening.

HAVE A GOOD DAY & STAY COOL.
