0315L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-6/13/22

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny, breezy, hot with highs around 102. South winds 15-25 mph.

Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 70s. South winds 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

1- THE HEAT CONTINUES so take the appropriate precautions to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed to stay cool. The wind is usually our friend when humidity is higher but it’s more like a blowtorch when we get above 100 degrees. It can help de-hydrate you too. Use extreme caution and pay attention to yourself while working outdoors.

2- We will still be above 100 today along with dryer air so the blowtorch effect will continue. Again, be careful while working outdoors.

3- HARVEST is ongoing so have patience along county roads when farm equipment is moving from field to field. Keep an eye out for fires and call 911 immediately so a quick response can be sent.

4- Overall, this week will be very hot so pace yourselves outdoors and make sure your outdoor pets have plenty of food and water.

HAVE A GOOD DAY AND STAY COOL!
