0305L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 10/21/24
*Thunderstorms are possible later today and/or tonight with a few possibly severe with golf ball size hail and winds to 60 mph as the main threats. This is due to an upper low that will move northeast through the panhandles. We’ll see how this actually affects us as the forecast verifies.
*I will update this over the GARFIELD COUNTY EM app after a briefing this morning. You can find this update under the GCEM blog on the app. By the way, each days update is also located on the app under the GCEM blog icon.
*At 0300L, there are a few thunderstorms scattered along the New Mexico/Oklahoma border along with storms moving into Cimarron and Texas Counties in the panhandle. These won’t affect us but it’s encouraging to finally see some rain activity. We’ll see what happens later today and tonight.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. Chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Tonight- Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then mostly clear after midnight. Lows in the mid-50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
