0320L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 10/28/24

*RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT TODAY FROM NOON UNTIL 8PM. WINDS 20-30 GUSTING TO 45 MPH, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY-20%, Temps- UP TO 91. Any fire that develops will spread quickly. NO OUTDOOR BURNING TODAY and possibly tomorrow.

*NOTICE- In the event fires do occur and they are moving towards housing additions or businesses, a FIRE WARNING WILL BE ISSUED AND POSSIBLY EVACUATIONS. On the evacuation part, monitor our social media page, the City of Enid page, and make sure you have our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. Monitor our local radio stations too.

*Weather-wise, besides the fire issue, we could possibly see some rainfall on Wednesday. There are many folks showing different models on social media with rainfall predictions. Don’t get too fired up on those as TIMING with that storm system will be the main factor along with moisture return. We’ll see how that looks later on Tuesday. Hopefully we do see some rainfall.

Today- Mostly sunny and very windy. Highs around 90. South winds 20 to 30 mph, increasing to 30 to 35 mph this afternoon. Gusts up to 50 mph.

Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Windy with lows in the upper 60s. South winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
