0330L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/16/22

1- HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT TODAY & SUNDAY FROM 1PM UNTIL 8PM

2- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. Hot with highs around 105. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight-Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Heat index values up to 105 early in the evening.

3- There were several fires around the eastern and western ends of the county yesterday which kept our crews busy. One thing to note; it was extremely hot out there. Not sure how the western fire started but if you see suspicious activity, call 911 and report it.

On the Lahoma Fire yesterday we had Lahoma, Drummond, Kremlin, Hillsdale-Carrier, Meno, Waukomis, and VAFB Fire out helping. Hopefully, I didn’t leave anyone out. You ask why so many departments? It’s because we were all short personnel due to many reasons. Remember that we are all volunteer departments, except Vance & Enid. On the Garber Fire, they had Garber, Hunter, Fairmont, Breckenridge, and Kremlin Fire.

Finally: Temps will be high again today and tomorrow. PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION if utilizing anything related to fire.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
