0305L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 7/6/24

Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’ll probably need it over the next several days.

*’GENERAL’ THUNDERSTORM RISK FOR LATER TODAY MOST LIKELY LATE EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

*INCREASED TO A ‘SLIGHT RISK’ FOR SUNDAY. STORMS WILL MOST LIKELY OCCUR WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL, HIGH WINDS, AND HAIL TO THE SIZE OF GOLF BALLS. WE ARE ALSO IN A ‘FLOOD WATCH’ FROM SUNDAY AT 1 PM UNTIL MONDAY AT 10 AM.

*I said all of that to say this: it appears we will see some severe weather but this time with quite a bit of rainfall. Some areas saw quite a bit last week and just may see it again so be prepared for most hazards and possibly some flooding on SUNDAY into MONDAY. Enjoy today as highs will be around 90 with south winds 5-15 mph.

*OVERALL, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 90s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming south 10 to 15 mph this afternoon.

Tonight- Mostly clear. A chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the upper 60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Have a good day!
