0255L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/08/23

* We are in a MARGINAL/SLIGHT RISK AREA for severe weather mainly late tonight into the early Sunday morning hours. Chances for showers and t-storms during the day are at 50% right now but if any do develop, we aren’t expecting anything severe and it would most likely occur on boundaries left over from convection last night. We’ll see what happens on that one.

*As stated above, we will see another round of high plains convection overnight tonight as we remain under the influence of northwest flow aloft. High winds, possibly some hail, and of course torrential rainfall will be our threats. Localized flooding could also occur depending on where storms track and how much rainfall those areas have received in recent days. We’ll see where this mess sets up and how it tracks later this evening. Just be prepared for some more storm activity late tonight.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly cloudy this morning, then becoming partly sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 80s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight- Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
