0335L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 06/01/24
*A fairly nice day on tap with warm temps and light winds. We are in a mostly MARGINAL Risk area but a SLIGHT Risk area cuts into the western 1/3rd of the county. Don’t let those lines deceive you as if we see storms, a few might be severe. This is for later this evening from roughly 7pm through the overnight hours. Quarter size hail and damaging winds are the main threats. Our storms will come off the high plain of Colorado and western Kansas.
*THIS MORNING, there is a line of strong storms to our NW that Might affect the area in a few hours if they can maintain themselves. See the radar pic attached. If they make it, expect rain and gusty winds. Other than these, we should have a nice warm day and then we’ll keep an eye to the west-northwest for tonight.
*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Mostly cloudy this morning, then becoming partly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid-80s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
