0310L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 6/22/24
*Warmer temps in store for today. Yesterdays highs were in the mid-90s and today we’ll be in the upper 90’s. Sunday will be start day for near 100+ temps for several days so figure out your strategy for staying cool. There is an outside chance we may see a thundershower this morning as a trough moves through and we could see thunderstorms later today as a weak front pushes in from the north. We’ll see what happens. Either way, it’s going to be hot, humid, and windy. Some gusts will be upwards of 30 mph.
*As most of you are aware, with winds gusting as high as we expect, we ask that you DON’T conduct any controlled burning today. It won’t be very controllable and we are very dry. The FIRE DANGER IS CLIMBING SO USE EXTREME CAUTION IF UTILIZING ANYTHING RELATED TO FIRE AND IF YOU SEE SMOKE OR FIRE, CALL 911.
