0400L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-3/14/2020

1- Showers and a few thunderstorms overnight but nothing severe occurred. These were the type storms I like as its just rain, a little lightning, and thunder. We received approximately 1.4 inches so let me know what you received and make sure you empty your gauge before Sunday evening when we expect possibly another round.

2- Overall, we’ll be ok but the ground will definitely be soft. With rain in the forecast this up and coming week, the Fire Danger should remain low.

3- COVID-19 is a respiratory issue. It’s a flu that can bring you down for several days. It is dangerous to the elderly and anyone with a lowered immune system so if you fall into that category, take extra precautions to protect yourself. The regular flu going around is just as dangerous so make sure you follow the same guidance for taking care of yourself as you would any flu virus. I have been attending Health Department meetings and coordinating with other health officials. Everyone is putting info out there hoping folks take the time to read and follow those directions. NOTE- as of yesterday afternoon, there are NO CASES of COVID-19 IN GARFIELD COUNTY. This is being watched carefully. Do your part and don’t panic and we’ll all get through this.

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Cloudy with a chance of rain showers in the morning. Highs in the lower 50s. North winds around 10 mph. Chance of showers 50 percent.

Tonight-Cloudy with lows in the upper 30s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY AND WE’LL ADVISE AS NEEDED.
