0310L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 3/22/25

Another nice day, with wind, is expected as we sail into the weekend. Winds today will become south to southeasterly with strong wind gusts. See forecast below.

ELEVATED fire weather conditions will continue as we move into this up and coming week. We have a front that will push in tonight, unfortunately dry and another on Tuesday. There is a very low chance a raindrop could occur next week but I am not holding my breath yet. We have gone 122 days without appreciable rainfall of at least ¼ of an inch. We are in a severe drought so use caution if using anything related to fire. We ask that you not do any CONTROLLED BURNING as it won’t take much to set the area on fire. Wind gusts will exceed safety parameters so please don’t burn this weekend.

A BURN BAN is being “considered” for GARFIELD COUNTY on Monday so use discretion in your planning this weekend.

Overall, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny and breezy. Highs in the mid-70s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, becoming south 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph this afternoon.

Tonight- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows around 50. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
