0355L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/6/21

1- There is a slight chance we may see some fog around the area early so if it occurs, slow down especially in low lying areas. Visibility may fall down to less than a mile. The fog should dissipate by 10 am or so, again, if it happens.

2- MARCH, the transition month. This is the month where we can see additional winter weather along with spring-like severe weather as the battle for the season occur. This is where I state, don’t let your guard down for either one. As we move forward, everyone should be thinking about their individual emergency plans. Some folks state that’s hogwash, I don’t need any plan. These are the folks that call either screaming at me because they weren’t ready, insured, or even anywhere close to prepared for an event. I can’t state this enough, PREPAREDNESS IS NOT HARD!  You don’t need a 500 page plan; a 2 or 3 sentence plan will work as long as it works for you. Keep it simple BUT figure out a plan. It’s my job to give you information and to protect the city and county, It’s your responsibility to know what you are going to do in the event we have that emergency. Download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. That’s a good starting place. Visit our website at gcem.org and you’ll find information all over our site that just might save your life.
