0420L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-5/14/22

GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our PREPAREDNESS app. You’re not ready without it!

1-Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight-Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly clear. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

2- If you go by the above forecast, there is no rain in it at all. There are several things that can happen where we could see some severe storms later tonight and tomorrow. You can read it here at this link: https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=OUN&issuedby=OUN&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1

3- As many realized overnight, some storms can become severe very quickly and put out large hail and damaging winds while moving slowly. Alfalfa, Major, & Blaine counties saw this overnight. Haven’t heard of any major damage yet but when the sun comes up, I am sure we’ll see some pictures.

4- Be prepared and ready to initiate your plan in the event that ANYTHING occurs. You have to make good decisions while under stressful conditions and that’s what PREPAREDNESS is all about. No planning means possibly bad decisions under duress. Make sure that doesn’t happen!

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
