0415L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-5/23/2020

1- We are in a MARGINAL RISK for possibly some more severe weather later tonight. IF we see more storms, they may be in the form of another squall line. We’ll just have to wait and see how things develop later. The higher severe threat looks to be to our southwest again so as stated, we’ll see where storms form and track then adjust accordingly. Overall for today, hot and windy so get out and enjoy it.

2- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Partly cloudy. Highs around 90. South winds 10 to 20 mph gusting to 28 mph

Tonight-Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the upper 60s. South winds 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts.. Chance of thunderstorms 20 percent.

DIRECTOR’S COMMENT

I have had many folks ask why I don’t do “live “broadcasts on Facebook on my personal page anymore. Simple. TIME doesn’t allow for that during severe weather events. This is why I have you all go to that page and I try to remember to let you know I am going to do one. Depending on the situation is whether I get that accomplished.

I would ask that you all go to the EM PAGE and here’s the shortcut @EGCEM and follow that page. It’s simpler this way.  My personal page Mike Honigsberg SR is where I would put personal posts for the most part. The EM PAGE-ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT or the shortcut @EGCEM would be weather, disaster, pandemic, etc information.

That’s my reasoning on this. I will post more on this and how I do this part of my job in future posts. For now, HAVE A SUPER DAY!!

MIKE
