0305L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 10/26/24

Download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’re NOT PREPARED without it. Our daily posts are located under the GCEM Blog icon on the app.

*Today looks to be really nice with clear skies, light winds, and temps in the 70s. It’ll be that day of the week that you’ll want to be outdoors getting that fresher air before the winds return later on Sunday evening. Fire danger today is low but remember that foliage is dry so use extreme caution out there. Monday and Tuesday, we’ll see wind gusts upwards of 50 mph so take the necessary precautions for that now.

*Controlled burning is still ILL-ADVISED as winds on Sunday late afternoon will increase. We are not under a burn ban right now but if folks start fires and they become a problem for firefighters, a ban could be implemented. We don’t need to go there as of yet. I’ll leave it at that for now.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Clear. Lows in the mid-40s. East winds around 5 mph.

*FINALLY: if anyone has questions, don’t ask me on this venue as I don’t monitor social media constantly. If you have a question, call the office and the system should forward that call to me.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
