0355L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 02/25/24
*Sunny with fairly light winds is in store for today. Winds will be variable at times but will return to southerly later tonight. This said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. Highs in the mid-70s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming north this afternoon.
Tonight- Clear. Lows in the lower 40s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
*Several fires occurred yesterday as units from Garfield County were called to assist. One was in Logan County and another was southwest of the Lacy area near the river in Kingfisher County. Both fires are under control as of right now.
*The FIRE DANGER will be ELEVATED on Monday and CRITICAL on Tuesday. Low humidity, high temps, very dry air, and strong winds will be the major issues on Monday and especially on Tuesday. We are recommending NO controlled burning on Monday or Tuesday. We’ll see what happens after that.
*FINALLY, an update is coming to several channels on the GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. When the update occurs, I’ll make known what the codes are for the protected channels to the respective emergency services folks. There won’t be changes for the public at this time.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
