0315L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 7/14/24

*HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON UNTIL 8PM THIS EVENING. HEAT INDEX VALUES TO 108 ARE EXPECTED HERE IN NORTHERN OKLAHOMA.

*There are a few thunderstorms that have formed in southern Kansas at 0245. These storms appear to be moving south. If they maintain themselves, they could affect the area early to mid-morning. They are trying to go up in Woods County already so we’ll see what happens and where they actually track. Movement is south at 10 mph at this time.

*It will be hotter today than yesterday so if you plan on doing yardwork or whatever, do it early and stay hydrated. Since the winds will be gusting upwards of 25 mph again today, we ask that NO CONTROLLED BURNING take place. It won’t be controlled for very long.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny, hot with highs around 103. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight- Clear. Lows in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Heat index values up to 105 early in the evening.
