0305L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 6/15/25
GOOD MORNING,
If you haven’t noticed, it’s been raining pretty much all night. We have received close to 1.5 inches of rain here on the west side of Enid. Areas in the southeast quadrant of the county have received upwards of 5 inches of rainfall. It could be more. We are under flood watches, advisories, and warnings as I type this. We have more rain coming. The severe threat this morning will continue to be winds to 60 and hail upwards of half dollar size hail, on average.
Lightning has been very impressive overnight and it’s not a good idea to be outside while storms are on-going. Flooding will be an issue as long as these cells train over the area. If you are out driving, use EXTREME CAUTION and don’t drive into flowing water. If you live near a drainage area, watch out for snakes and other critters. Keep the kids out of those areas too. Water flow is stronger than it looks. We don’t want an accident to occur.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Today- Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some thunderstorms may be severe with damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall this morning. Humid with highs in the mid-80s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
Tonight- Partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Humid with lows in the upper 60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
