0350L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-5/10/2020

1- We are in a GENERAL THUNDERSTORM RISK area for today. Basically, it will be hit and miss. We aren’t expecting anything severe but it will be one of those days where it may do nothing, drizzle, rain, or just pour. We’ll see what happens. Either way it will be partly to mostly cloudy and cool.

2- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Sunday- Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday Night-Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain showers after midnight. Lows in the lower 40s with light and variable winds becoming east around 10 mph after midnight.

3- Mid-week into the weekend looks like it could be a bit touchy weather-wise so make sure over the next several days that you are prepared for the likelihood we will have severe weather. When you read that “all hazards are possible”, that means winds, hail, intense lightning, and tornadoes. I am not saying everything will occur here but just be prepared as that mess comes together around mid-week. Be sure you have our UPDATED version of the GARFIELD COUNTY EM app and you should be ok. ALSO, listen to our LOCAL radio stations during weather events.

4- Finally, during intense or severe weather events, I will most likely do LIVE REPORTS on Facebook only on our Enid/Garfield County E.M. page. That shortcut address is @EGCEM and yes, that shortcut is all caps. Severe weather happens. We can’t stop it so we’ll just deal with it and move on. We’ll be ok.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

MIKE
