*GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification app. Keep up with the latest from GCEM and the NWS, in detail. Today is a good day to download it if you don’t have it.
*We are in an ENHANCED/SLIGHT RISK area for severe weather later this evening. A moderate risk is just north of us into Kansas. IF STORMS DO OCCUR, our biggest threat early would be supercell storms, which could have large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornados and these appear they may form out west and also into Kansas thus lessening our risk. Later in the evening we would be looking at large hail and strong winds as storms become more lineal. We’ll wait and see how guidance changes throughout the day and advise accordingly. Spotters will be put on stand-by just in case.
