300L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 5/7/23

* Download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. NWS warnings and advisories automatically come through our app in detail. It is a great tool to have and it costs YOU, nothing. Get it today and research the whole app. It’s loaded with great info to get you and your family prepared!

*We are in a GENERAL RISK area for thunderstorms later today. Depending on where the dryline ends up will determine our risk, though its low at the time of this typing. The atmosphere will be very unstable once again today with weak wind shear and no synoptic scale support, per guidance. Storms will be diurnally driven with hail and winds being the main threats. Timing, if they occur will be later afternoon. Down south will be where the greater risks are. Again, if traveling, stay weather aware in the southern half of Oklahoma. Another area for concern if you travel north is in NE Kansas into Iowa. Be careful.

*Back home, it will be warm, almost hot so stay hydrated while working/playing outside. Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny. Highs in the lower 90s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Tonight-Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then mostly clear after midnight. Some thunderstorms may be severe. Lows in the lower 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
