0315L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/1/23

*Welcome to October and it’s still going to be around 90 degrees today and Monday. We will cool off after that. Rain is in the forecast for late Monday night through Thursday so we’ll see how much of that, if any, actually reaches us. For Today, temps around 90 and southerly winds will keep us on the warm side once again so it’s a good day to do yard work.

* A cold front will traverse the area on Wednesday and bring with it, cooler temps. The forecast changes daily but we could see high temps on Thursday through the weekend in the upper 60s to low 70s. That would be a nice change. We’ll see what happens.

* As I have been stating, the Fire Danger will be with us basically through the winter months. When foliage goes dormant THE DANGER REALLY INCREASES so use caution while doing any burning whatsoever. If you see smoke or fire call 9-1-1. If you plan a controlled burn, call dispatch at 580-234-3473.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Sunday- Sunny. Highs around 90. South winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts.

Sunday Night- Partly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Lows in the lower 60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
