0420L-THURSDAY UPDATE FROM ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-4/12/18

1- FIRE DANGER IS CRITICAL AGAIN TODAY.  BURNING OF ANY KIND IS “NOT” ADVISED.

2- A large fire between 138th and 150th just off of 412 yesterday will be smoldering today and will be monitored closely during the day. As I have stated for quite some time, if you do see any smoke or fire wherever you may be, call 911. THANKS TO HUNTER, GARBER, COVINGTON, AND FAIRMONT FIRE DEPARTMENTS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON.

3- Our rain chances are virtually zero tomorrow when a cold front will push through the state. The major issue with it will be the wind shift. Hopefully, we don’t have any fires ongoing at that time. Winds will let down some just prior to the frontal passage.

4- Overall, we should be ok. Continue to keep your eyes peeled for smoke and fire and get them reported ASAP. Thank you in advance for your help. It’s extremely important to get your help in these situations. We consider you all part of our FIRE “SPOTTER” TEAM!!

5- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny, with a high near 89. Windy, with a south wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Tonight-Increasing clouds, with a low around 66. Windy, with a south wind 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph.

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND STAY SAFE.

MIKE
