FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-THURSDAY 8/10/17

The rains came but a bit abrupt but we all survived. If anyone out there sustained any damage, send us a report through our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app so we can log the information. You may email it to us too at mike@gcem.org

We received 1.75 inches of rain during the storms last night and we can expect more tonight as we are in a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather. Last night’s winds were estimated around 60 mph but may have been higher during some of those gusts.

Actual rainfall may have been higher but catching horizontal rain is difficult. That said; expect more heavy weather later today into the evening hours.

Don’t get fixated on where lines are on any map attached to this post as they will change some during the day. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Thursday-20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. South wind 6 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night-Showers and thunderstorms later today and tonight. Some may be severe. Low around 68. South southeast wind 9 to 13 mph becoming northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
MIKE
