0335L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/24/23

*HEAT ADVISORY in effect today from noon until 9pm. HEAT ADVISORY in effect on Friday from 11 am until 9pm. Our heat index today and tomorrow is expected to be around 105.

* Just a footnote here, I remember that when I worked in the oil patch back in the late 70s and early 80s there were times when we were above 100 degrees at midnight! Just know that these temps could be worse and it’s summer. A break in temps is coming so hang in there a few more days and we will cool off back into the 90s.

*Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny, hot with highs around 101. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the mid-70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Heat index values up to 105 early in the evening.

* If you see smoke or fire, call 9-1-1.
