FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Where is time going? Before you know it, it’ll be next year. A lot of things are scheduled and I will update you all on that next week.

I have been harping at you concerning the weather this coming weekend. Please heed the cold weather warnings. This is ARCTIC AIR that we will be dealing with and it will “BURN YOU” in the form of FROSTBITE if you are not careful. If you want to feel pain, don’t listen to us. All the tips we have given you and what the NWS is telling you, take this seriously. We don’t want you, your family, and your pets, to be hurt by this very dangerously cold air.

That said, we are now posting to Facebook and Twitter from our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. This post is going to the Enid/Garfield County Emergency Management page and then forwards to twitter right now. It won’t go to my personal Facebook page. If we can ever get our website updated, our posts will go there too.  This is taking a load off of us when we are under pressure to get information out there. Reminder to our Viaradio users that the host company suddenly shut us down so that platform is now gone. That’s what happens when one company buys out another and they don’t see the need to support it after a few years. Oh well, we’ll move on.

Weatherwise, today will be cool to cold depending on each person with a major warmup for Friday. The freezer gets turned on and then turned down on Saturday and Sunday AND YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY!! The fire danger is up there too, so be careful.

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Thursday-Partly sunny, with a high near 34. East wind 8 to 17 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.

Thursday Night-Patchy drizzle after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 41 by 5am. South wind 14 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Everyone have a super day and make sure you are ready for the weekend weather.

MIKE
