0320L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-12/21/23

*Humid and windy as we wait for the storm system out west to move through. We only have a 50/50 chance for rain today and that won’t come into play until sometime this afternoon IF it occurs at all. Per guidance, rainfall should start around 2pm depending on the speed of the system. We’ll have a lull in activity on Friday and then later on Saturday evening, we’ll have better chances for showers and maybe thunderstorms. A cold front will push in Sunday evening bringing strong winds and cooler temps. Christmas Day continues to look cooler with temps in the mid-40s.

Overall, we’ll be ok so we’ll wait for the first wave and deal with it. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers this afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight- Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers. Lows in the lower 50s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
