0300L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 1/9/25

TODAY will be interesting!

*WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THIS MORNING UNTIL 8 AM ON FRIDAY MORNING.

*At 0245 this morning, it’s 26 degrees and we are looking at temps climbing into the mid 30’s. There is a chance we may see some flurries this morning and then possibly some light rain during the day. There is a chance that we MIGHT see what is called a mesoscale band of snowfall either here or somewhere south of us. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see where this mess wants to set up. We could see upwards of 3 inches if we end up under this feature. It’s still complicated.

Overall, we’ll be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Cloudy. A chance of snow showers this morning, then snow showers likely with a slight chance of rain showers this afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Highs in the mid-30s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.

Tonight- Cloudy. Snow showers likely, mainly in the evening. Snow accumulation around 3 inches. Cold with lows in the mid-20s. West winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph after midnight. Chance of snow 60 percent.
