0315L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-6/22/23

* MARGINAL/GENERAL RISK for severe weather today. “IF” we see storms, they will be moving in from the high plains of Colorado and Western Kansas and timing would be late morning to early afternoon, based on guidance at 0250L. We are on the edge of where these cells would track so we will have to wait and see how this one plays out. Yesterday, we got wet. We’ll see what happens today.

*TONIGHT- we could see another round of storms move in from the same area so again, we’ll watch and see how this mess comes together. Weather threats will be strong winds, hail, and torrential rainfall if they do occur.

* Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly cloudy after midnight, then mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 90. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows around 70. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
