FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-THURSDAY JUNE 29, 2017
Storm chances are going up and it APPEARS we may see a few. Hopefully so. We are in a SLIGHT /MARGINAL RISK area for storms later today and tomorrow. Saturday will be a MARGINAL RISK DAY. There are many variables happening atmospherically out there and as we always state, don’t get fixated on where lines are on a graph as they will change over the short term.
That said, just stay weather aware and don’t cancel any plans as of yet. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today-Sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 101. South wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.
Tonight-20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 11 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
HAVE A GREAT DAY and we’ll advise as needed.
