0335L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 3/20/25

NO WATCHES OR WARNINGS TODAY AND MOST OF ALL, “LIGHT WINDS” UNTIL LATE IN THE DAY. We will remain in an elevated fire danger but until we actually green up, we’ll be this way. We need rain now more than ever and there is nothing showing into the near future. Whatever has blown in from New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, and Kansas won’t be realized until we water our yards. As long as Cactus plants don’t grow, we should be ok.

Yesterdays wind gusts amounted to 57 at the Lahoma Mesonet site, 53 at the Breckinridge site, 49 at my house, 59.9 at VAFB. We most likely had higher gusts but may not have seen any recorded gusts. If you have a weather station at home and can show by picture or data set, send it to us at mike@gcem.org This is important, Thank you.

Overall, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Not as cool with highs in the lower 60s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming west this afternoon.

Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. Not as cool with lows in the mid-40s. South winds 15 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph after midnight.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
