0305L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 3/6/25
* WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.
Here we go again with more wind, this time out of the south. Another front will push in early Friday thus causing the pressure gradient to increase giving us strong winds. We may see wind gusts upwards to around 50. This said, if you are driving and you’re in a crosswind, watch out and be prepared for wind gusts as they can catch you off guard. That result could be a bit rough so be careful while driving.
The fire danger is still elevated and it will be this way for a while, until we start to green up over the next several weeks. That said, we’ll sit back and see what happens and adjust as needed.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Partly sunny this morning, then becoming mostly cloudy. Windy with highs in the lower 60s. Southeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, increasing to south 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph this afternoon.
Tonight- Mostly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Windy and not as cool with lows in the upper 40s. South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
