FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

As of 0400 this morning, there is no Red Flag Warnings yet. There is a Grassland Fire Warning in effect for our western tier of counties and we have a few cold fronts that will affect the area starting today.

Keep your coats handy for this weekend. Also, keep an umbrella handy as we MIGHT have a CHANCE for wet stuff falling from the sky. We can only hope at this point.

We continue to coordinate with state and other county officials and our Task Force group 2 is on standby for out of county response. We stood standby for Major County once again as their Eastern group of departments was in the Woodward area. Believe it or not, there is science to the chaos as these wildland fires occur.
Overall, everything is going well and we ask that you keep your eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary in and around the county or beyond, for that matter. Report suspicious activity to law enforcement ASAP.

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Thursday-Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. South southeast wind 7 to 9 mph becoming north in the afternoon.
Thursday Night-Mostly clear, with a low around 38. North northeast wind 6 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND WE’LL ADVISE AS NEEDED.
MIKE
